Singapore Masters Championship 2013

We participated at the 34th Singapore Masters Championship at Toa Payah Stadium.last weekend – 7th September night (with Flood lights). Viji got 2 medals Siver for 200m and Bronze for 400m. I got Silver for 3000 meter walk. It was tough esp with strong runners from Thailand, Sr Lanka and Singapore. We had about 60 participants from Malaysia. We enjoyed it and hope to go next year. I had the oppurtunity to receive the  medals from the former Singapore Olympian Mr C. Kunalan (Photo sitting next to me in yellow T shirt). It was a great moment.

Thai Open Masters 2013

Recently myself and wife, Viji participated in the 18th Thailand Open Masters Athletics Championship 7th-10th March 2013. It was held at Khon Khean province , 500 km by road NE of Bangkok.

13 Countries including all the provinces of Thailand comprising of 1543 athletes took part . It was very tough to get one medal (1-3 only) but Viji managed to get a Bronze for Javelin , suprisingly her last throw was with an OOMPH and the difference with the 4th was only .08 cm ! In my case I was out in my first heat itself  in 2 events that i took part.

From Malaysia around 20 took part and got 7 medals, India had 50 participants and Sri Lanka had around 140 participants , Singapore around 30. It was a very challenging , interesting and joyful championship. On our way back we stayed in Bangkok to visit some places and i have attached some photos for your kind viewing.
